D-I-Y!

The Scrapbook Guestbook

Picture
I took an ordinary scrapbook and made it into my guest book.

The Centerpieces

Picture
For the centerpieces, I bought a long cylinder flower vase. I filled it with river rocks at the bottom. . I filled it with water. Then, I took a floating candle with "Ocean Breeze" scent and placed it on top! These will sit on a circle of tulle with sand and white rose petals.  This picture shows a little of what it will look like. When I add water, the flower will float in the middle and the candle will be lit and float on the top.

**Instead of the fake hibiscus, I'll be using real hydrangeas. Possibly a white flower also, depending on what I buy the Thursday before.

The Unity Candle

I decorated our unity candle myself. I bought cheap white candles ( a pillar candle and two long candles) from walmart. I also bought green and blue sheer ribbon and super glued them on (word to the wise- hot glue came right off!) There's three different ribbons on the top band of the unity candle. A light blue ribbed ribbon, then the wider green ribbon and then the blue ribbon. The light candles have the light blue ribbed ribbon layered underneath the sheer green ribbon with a blue sheer bow glued on!

The Table Numbers

Picture
For the table numbers, I bought wooden frames with the shape of a heart for the place the picture goes from Michael's Arts and Crafts for one dollar each. I bought paint in my wedding colors and painted half of the frames one of the colors and half of them the other color. Then, I took white number stickers and placed them on the lower right hand corner of the frames. The frames don't really come with nice coverings of the back of where the picture goes, so I took different blues card stock and cut out hearts to fit.I will be using engagement photos as the photos.

The Program

Picture
To make the program, I used a fourth of a 8 x 11 inch paper for for each page. To make the cover, I cut an 8 x 11 inch piece of ivory card stock in half long ways and folded the piece to make the book. Next, FI hole punched the booklet and I tied a blue and green ribbon to it. The B is construction paper that I cut with an Elsin machine and then glued it on to the booklet.

Flower Pens

In order to make the flower pens, I bought small circle ball point pens (ones that DO NOT click,) fake flowers, and flower stem tape. I took the flower and hot glued it to the top of the pen, letting the stem (cut short) hang doen beside the the pen. Then, I wrapped the stem to the pen with the green flower stem tape all the way down and then all the way up again.

The Bouquets

Picture
One of my bridesmaids and I made all of our bouquets the Thursday night before the wedding. We used white roses and hydgrangeas for the bride and bridesmaids and lime greem pom pom chyrsanthemums for the junior bridesmaids.

I cut them into single stem cluters and then arranged them how I wanted them to look- a puff ball. Then, I took flower wire and wrapped them around the stems to hold them in place. I then took green flower tape and wrapped the stem from top to bottom.

Pomanders

Picture
I made tissue paper pomanders to line the aisle. Mine will be smaller than those pictured and will be green and blue (each one will be one color.)

Picture stolen from Mrs.B.Rad on June2010 Board (she has instructions in her bio--- oh and she's awesome :))
